providing physical and spiritual support for people in need
Barnabas & Partners provides relief work throughout China through disaster relief, and providing physical support for orphaned and disabled children, impoverished families, and struggling communities.
When the Sichuan earthquake struck in 2008, Barnabas & Partners led a massive team of 2,000 volunteers to support victims, provide a physical labor force, and give counseling to traumatized survivors. The team purchased and provided emergency relief items such as rice, oil, and medicine to earthquake survivors, established training centers in many of the “permanent temporary” housing areas, and hiked into areas where the government was unable or unwilling to go, providing badly needed relief supplies.
